This super fast broccoli raab produces many small broccolis in just 40 days - faster than any other broccoli! Also known as Rapini, this heritage Italian variety produces an abundance of succulent broccoli florets and is often used in the traditional pasta dish 'Orecchiette e Cima di Rapa' from Puglia. Related to Mizuna mustard and napa cabbage, this rustic and heritage turnip-relative has a hint of mustard flavor and is a one of the fastest ways to produce nutrient rich greens in your garden. You can eat the flowering stems and leaves.

Super easy to grow. Sow between March and September for harvests from late spring through mid-fall harvest. (AKA "Quarantina Cima Di Rapa", "Spring Raab", "Rapini")

40 days to maturity.

Start seeds 4/15 - 9/1. Direct sow outdoors or start inside in containers. Sow seeds 1/4" deep. Plant spacing: 6-12".

Before flower buds open, cut stems (4-8" in length). Harvest regularly to encourage continued harvest.

Brassica rapa is insect pollinated and will cross with other flowering Brassica rapa species such as Pac choi and Chinese cabbage. Isolation distance: ½ mile. Min. pop. size: 25 - 50. Collect seeds from the best plants once pods have turned from green to tan but before seeds have been released. Clean seed as a dry-seeded crop.
