Start seeds inside 3/15-7/15 at 72-75°. Water soil before sowing seeds. Sow seeds on soil surface and do not cover. Keep seeds moist until germination by watering them with a mist (a handheld sprayer works well for this) or bottom watering method. Cover seed flat with a dome to keep moisture in (but you should air it out 1x per day for 20 minutes to prevent fungal growth). Days to germination: 10-14.
Mint WILL become weedy (because the plants spread by rhizome roots that are difficult to remove) so only plant it in areas where it is ok for it to spread or plant it in a container. Transplant outside 5/15-8/1, spaced 10-18" apart.
Clip leaves or branches as needed throughout the year. Mint can be cut to the ground and it will grow back. Dry the leaves and flowers for mint tea, or use them fresh.
