Start seeds indoors 4/1 – 4/21 at a temp of 70-80° (can use a heating mat). Planting depth: 1/8". Days to germination: 5-14. Transplant outside after last frost (5/20) spaced 8" apart. Always water young plants regularly. Gomprena is somewhat drought tolerant after it is about 1 month old.
Harvest fresh flowers for bouquets. For dried flowers, cut flowers and hang bunches upside down to dry.
Gomprena seeds are mature in September and October which means that they produce few viable seeds before frost when grown in the north.
